Also,ineitherofthefollowingevents,thecomputerautomaticallyreturnsfromsleepmodeandresumes
operation:
•Theringindicator(RI)issignaledbyaserialdeviceoraPCCarddevice.
•Thetimesetontheresumetimerelapses.
Note:Thecomputerdoesnotacceptanyinputimmediatelyafteritenterssleepmode.Waitafew
secondsbeforetakinganyactiontoreenteroperationmode.
Hibernationmode
Inhibernationmode,thefollowingoccurs:
•Thesystemstatus,random-accessmemory(RAM),videorandom-accessmemory(VRAM),andsetup
dataarestoredontheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive.
•Thesystemispoweredoff.
Note:Ifthecomputerentersthehibernationmodewhileitisconnectedtothedock,donotdisconnectit
beforeresumingnormaloperation.Ifyoudodisconnectitandthentrytoresumenormaloperation,youwill
getanerrormessage,andyouwillhavetorestartthesystem.
Ifyouhavedenedoneofthefollowingactionsastheeventthatcausesthesystemtogointohibernation
mode,performthataction.
•Closingthelid.
•Pressingthepowerbutton.
Also,thecomputergoesintohibernationmodeautomaticallyafteraperiodofinactivityspeciedinpower
plansettings
Whenthepoweristurnedon,thecomputerreturnsfromhibernationmodeandresumesoperation.The
hibernationleinthebootrecordontheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedriveisread,andsystemstatusis
restoredfromtheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive.
