Thissectionincludesthefollowingdescriptions:

Restoringtheserialnumberofthesystemunit
Whenthecomputerwasmanufactured,theElectricallyErasableProgrammableRead-OnlyMemory
(EEPROM)onthesystemboardwasloadedwiththeserialnumbersofthesystemandallmajorcomponents.
Thesenumbersneedtoremainthesamethroughoutthelifeofthecomputer.
Ifyoureplacethesystemboard,youmustrestoretheserialnumberofthesystemunittoitsoriginalvalue.
Theserialnumberofthesystemunitiswrittenonthelabelattachedtothebottomofthecomputer.
Ifyoucannotndtheserialnumberofthesystemunitonthebottomofthecomputer,trythefollowing
methodtogetthenumber:

1.ConnectaUSBmemorykeytothecomputer.

AssetIDscreenisdisplayed.
6.Type2underEntertheactiondesired,thenpressEnter.Theserialnumberofeachdeviceinyour
computerisdisplayed;theserialnumberofthesystemunitislistedasfollow:

7.Recordtheserialnumberofthesystemunit.
Afteryoureplacethesystemboard,dothefollowingtorestoretheserialnumberofthesystemunit:
