Dependingonthemodel,thecomputeryouareservicingmighthaveaSIMcardslot.Ifthecustomerhas
installedaSIMcardintheslot,removeitbeforeservicing.
ToremovetheSIMcard,youneedtoremovethebatterypackrst.See“1010Batterypack”onpage56.
Afteryounishtheservicing,ensurethatyouinsertthecardbackintotheslotrmly.

Importantnoticesforreplacingabatterypack:
TheLenovoSolutionCenterprogramprovidesanautomaticbatterydiagnostictestthatdeterminesifthebattery
packisdefective.AbatterypackFRUshouldnotbereplacedunlessthisdiagnostictestshowsthatthebattery
isdefective.
Theonlyexceptiontothisisifthebatterypackisphysicallydamagedoracustomerisreportingapossible
safetyissue.
IftheLenovoSolutionCenterprogramisnotinstalledinthecomputer,thecustomershoulddownloadthisprogram
beforeanon-physicallydamagedbatterypackisreplaced.Notethataphysicallydamagedbatterypackisnot
coveredbythewarranty.
