4. MAINTENANCE
4.6B Hydraulic System
After 900 hours of operation, the
hydraulic oil needs to be changed and
the suction element in the hydraulic oil
reservoir needs to be replaced.
1. The reservoir drain plug is accessed at
the bottom of the engine compartment
(T90062). Drain the hydraulic oil from
the reservoir. Have a container(s) ready
to hold approximately 21 gallons (81
liters) of oil.
2. Disconnect the suction hose from the
hydraulic oil reservoir (T90045).
3. Remove the adapter fitting from the
hydraulic reservoir.
4. Remove and discard the suction screen
element (S0074). The suction element is
threaded into the reservoir the same as a
fitting.
5. Replace the suction element. Use teflon
type pipe thread sealant on the threads
when installing.
6. Install the adapter fitting and connect
the suction line to the reservoir. Use
teflon type pipe thread sealant on the
adapter threads when installing.
7. Add 10W30 minimum API classifica-
tion CF motor oil to the operating level
on the site gauge (T90021).
Never repair or tighten hydraulic hoses or
fittings while the machine is running. Fluid
under pressure can penetrate the skin and
cause serious injury.
