4.6 900 HOUR SERVICE
Perform a complete 50 and 300 hour
service plus the following.
4.6A Engine Cooling System
The engine cooling system needs to
be flushed, and the coolant replaced after
900 hours of service.
1. Warm the engine to circulate the engine
coolant.
2. Shut off the engine.
3. Drain the coolant from the engine
(T90120). Connect a hose to the engine
block drain and place the other end of
the hose in a container.
4. Remove the drain plug from the radiator
assembly. Be sure to contain all waste
coolant.
5. Replace the radiator plug and shut off
the engine block drain.
6. Fill the engine with plain water and
warm the engine to operating tempera-
ture.
7. Drain the cooling system again. Use a
container to catch the waste water.
8. Replace the coolant drain plugs and
replenish with a 50/50 mixture of ethy-
lene glycol and clean water.
9. Overflow tank level (T90030).
Use care when draining the engine coolant.
It may be hot enough to burn the skin.
