7.3 Adjusting of braking deceleration
Adjust the braking torque by pre-tensioning the brake springs for each lift
type individually and at both brake shoes evenly.
Only adjust brake for DAF 330 with one acting brake shoe each while
moving the car loaded with rated load downwards (full - down) in
accordance with the values stated in the table below.
When performing a brake test see to it that the braking distance (s

one brake shoe is less than the value stated below.

Attention: the brake disk will be heated by repeated braking and,
consequently, the braking performance and adjusted values will change. This
is why a reasonable pause shall be made between the tests.
Adjusting the braking force (pressure force of the brake shoe)
The braking force is adjusted by changing the pre-tension of the pressure
spring.
Adjust the lift-specific deceleration by turning the straining screw of pressure
spring on the brake shoe. Secure this adjustment on brake shoe with lock nut
and adjust the second brake shoe in the same way.
Attention: maximum pretension for one shoe shall not exceed 26 mm
(corresponds to approx. 10 rotations of screw).
This is the factory-adjusted brake value in the as-delivered condition. Do not
exceed this value.
Do not exceed the maximum value since otherwise correct functioning
of the brake can be impaired.
Attention: when you adjust the brake see to it that the screw of the test
switch does not (or only slightly) contact the switch contact, since otherwise
the switch will be damaged.
Note: check and/or re-adjust brake test switches every time you adjust the
brake.
