WHAT HAPPENS WHEN POWER
IS TURNED OFF
Embedding Module
When the power is turned off for maintenance proce-
dures, etc. (via power switch on front panel) or
interrupted by a power failure:

current time of day and all instrument settings are
not lost
Q
preset On/Off times will be retained and will
occur as scheduled
Cryo Module
To protect the compressor from damage, the com-
pressor will not restart for 3 to 5 minutes if power
is interrupted or turned off while the compressor is
ON. The fan will start immediately.
When the Cryo Module is intermittently not in use
during the day, turn the compressor OFF by pressing
the CRYO key on the Embedding Module control
panel. This action will not be allowed if the Cryo
Module operation was set to synchronize with the
Embedding Module and the mode of operation
selected is AUTO (AUTO LED is illuminated).
WHEN TO SET POWER SWITCH
ON FRONT PANEL TO OFF
Set power switch to OFF when modules are not in
use for extended periods of time (e.g., over a month),
and when performing designated maintenance proce-
dures.
