2. Preliminary preparation for the personal computer to be used
This chapter will show the setting procedure for the personal computer to be used for version up of the
CV-5000 instrument.
1 Installation of the distributed CD
• Copy the CD including the CV5000 folder to the desktop of the personal computer.
2 Installation of driver
When you connect the CV power supply unit to the personal computer for the first time, it is necessary
to install the driver as shown below. If the driver has already been installed, the following process is
not required.
2.1 Make sure that the power of the CV power supply unit is OFF. Then, remove the CV connecting
cable and KB connecting cable.
2.2 Connect the CV power supply unit to the personal computer with the USB cable. Then, turn on
the power of the CV power supply unit.
2.3 Wait until the dialog box telling to install the driver appears.
• Specify the contents of the CV5000 folder, which is on the desktop, for the driver and continue
the installation.
2.4 Click the [USB] icon at the lower right corner on the desktop and make sure that “TOPCON
CV-5000” is displayed.
If the message telling to install the driver does not appear, execute the following work:
Copy “Topusb.inf” to “¥WINDOWS¥inf”.
Copy “TOPUSB.sys” to “¥WINDOWS¥system32¥drivers”.
