• an RS232 cable and a computer/controller
• a Bluetooth-enabled external device (computer/
controller)
• a USB cable and a computer/controller with the TPS
USB driver installed (for PC-CDU only)
Establishing an RS232 Cable
Connection
This section shows you how to connect the GR-5 and a
computer/controller running TRU. See “RTK Survey” on
page 42 for TopSURV connection details.
1. Using the RS232 cable, connect the serial port of the
computer/controller to the receiver’s serial port.
2. Press the power buttons on the receiver and computer/
controller to turn them on.
3. Start TRU on your computer/controller.
4. Select DeviceApplication ModeReceiver
Managing.
5. Click DeviceConnect.
6. On the Connection Parameters dialog box, select the
following parameters:
• Connect Using – select Serial Port
• Port name – shows physical and friendly name for
the port. The Application remembers the last used
