1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shutoffthe
engineandremovethekey.
2.Removethedipstickandwipeitwithacleanrag
(Figure32).
Important:Removethedipstickwhilelling
theenginewithoil.Whenaddingengine
oilorllingoil,theremustbeclearance
betweentheoillldeviceandtheoilll
holeinthevalvecoverasshowninFigure
31.Thisclearanceisnecessarytopermit
ventingwhenlling,whichpreventsoilfrom
overrunningintobreather.

3.Pushthedipstickintothetubeandmakesureit
isseatedfully.
4.Removethedipstickfromthetubeandcheck
thelevelofoil.
Note:Iftheoillevelislow,removethellercap
fromthevalvecoverandslowlyaddenough
oiltoraisetheleveltotheFULLmarkonthe
dipstick.
Addtheoilslowlyandchecktheleveloften
duringthisprocess.Donotoverll.
5.Replacethedipstick.
6.Startandruntheengineatidlefor30seconds,
thenshuttheengineoff.Wait30seconds,then
repeatsteps2through5.
7.Installthellercapanddipstickrmlyinplace.

ServiceInterval:Aftertherst50hours
Every100hours
1.Removethedrainplug(Figure33)andlettheoil
owintoadrainpan.Whentheoilstops,install
thedrainplug.
