12.Stoptheengineandremovethekey.
13.Waitfor2or3minutesandchecktheoillevel;referto
CheckingtheEngine-OilLevel(page66).

ServiceInterval:Every250hours—Clearthesparkarrestor
inthemuferofcarbonbuildup.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,stoptheengine,
andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Removethepipeplugfromtheclean-outportatthe
lowersideofthemufer.
WARNING
Themufermaybehotandcouldcause
injury.
Becarefulnottotouchthehotmufer.
3.Starttheengine.
4.Plugthenormalmuferexitwithablockofwoodor
metalplatesothattheexhaustowwillbeforcedout
oftheclean-outport.Continuetoblocktheexituntil
carbondepositsceasecomingoutoftheport.
WARNING
Donotstandinlinewiththeclean-outport;
hotelementscouldcauseseriousinjury.
Wearsafetyglasses.
5.Stoptheengineandreplacethepipeplug.
