Note:Checkthebatteryconditionweeklyorafterevery
50hoursofoperation.Keeptheterminalsandtheentire
batterycasecleanbecauseadirtybatterywilldischargeslowly.
Tocleanthebattery,washtheentirecasewithasolution
ofbakingsodaandwater.Rinsewithclearwater.Coat
thebatterypostsandcableconnectorswithGrafo112X
(skin-over)grease(ToroPartNo.505-47)orpetroleumjelly
topreventcorrosion.

Exposuretobatteryacidorabatteryexplosioncan
causeseriouspersonalinjury.
Beforeyouserviceabattery,wearfaceprotection,
protectivegloves,andprotectiveclothing.
WARNING
Abatterycontainssulfuricacid,whichcancause
seriousburns;andtheycanproduceexplosive
gases.
•Avoidcontactwithskin,eyes,orclothing;ush
affectedareaswithwater.
•Iftakeninternally,drinklargequantitiesofwater
ormilk.
Do not inducevomiting.Seekmedical
attentionimmediately.
•Keepsparks,ames,andlitcigarettesandcigars
awayfromthebattery.
•Ventilatethebatterywhenyouarechargingitor
usingitinanenclosedarea.
•Weareyeprotectionwhenworkingneara
battery.
•Washyourhandsafterhandlingabattery.
•Keepthebatteryoutofthereachofchildren.

Ifyoutrytochargeorjumpstartafrozenbattery,it
couldbeexplosive,causingpersonalinjurytoyou
orothersinthearea.
Topreventthebatteryelectrolytefromfreezing,
keepthebatteryfullycharged.
