•Yourantheengineuntilthefueltankisemptyordrained
thefueltank.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,stoptheengine,
andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Openthefronthood.
3.Ensurethattheengineandtheexhaustsystemarecool.
4.Ensurethatthefueltankisatleast1/4full.
5.RotatetheBATTERY-DISCONNECTswitchclockwise
totheONposition.
6.LocatethePRIMINGbuttononthetopofthelter
adapterforthesecondary-fuellter(Figure91).

ReplacingtheFuelFilters
ServiceInterval:Every250hours—Replacetheprimary
andsecondary,fuellters.
ReplacingthePrimaryFuelFilter
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,stoptheengine,
andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Openthefronthood;refertoOpeningtheFront
Hood(page58).
3.Placecleanragsundertheprimaryfuellter.
4.Loosenthehoseclampsandseparatetheprimaryfuel
lterfromthefuelhoses(Figure92).
Note:Donotremovethehoseclampsfromthehoses.
Note:Discardthefuellter.
5.Alignthenewprimaryfuelltertothehoseswiththe
arrowprintedonthelterpointingforward(Figure92).
6.Slipthehosesoverthehosettingoftheprimaryfuel
lterandtightenthehoseclamps(Figure92).
7.Replacethesecondaryfuellter;refertoReplacingthe
SecondaryFuelFilter(page70).
ReplacingtheSecondaryFuelFilter
1.Removethesecondaryfuellterasfollows:
A.Cleanthesecondaryfuel-lterassemblyandthe
surroundingarea.
B.Completelydrainwaterfromthelter;referto
DrainingWaterfromtheFuelFilter(page69).
C.Firmlygraspthesecondary-fuel-lterelement,
androtatethewatersensorcounterclockwise,and
removethewatersensor(Figure92).
Note:Retainthewatersensoranddiscardthe
O-ring.
