1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,stoptheengine,
andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Openthefronthood.
3.Cleantheexteriorofthebatterycaseandthebattery
posts.
Note:Connecttheleadsofthebatterychargerto
batterypostsbeforeconnectingthechargertothe
electricalsource.
4.Lookatthebatteryandidentifythepositiveand
negativebatteryposts.
5.Connectthepositiveleadofthebatterychargertothe
positivebatterypost(Figure93).

3.EnsurethatallcontrolsareintheNEUTRALposition.
4.Sitintheoperatorseatandhavetheotherpersonmake
theconnections.
Note:Ensurethatthejumperbatteryisa12-volt
battery.
Important:Ifyouareusinganothermachine
forpower,ensurethatthe2machinesarenot
touchingeachother.
5.Preparetostarttheengine;refertoStarting/Stopping
theEngine(page43).
6.Removethecoverfromthejumppost(Figure94).
