1.Positiontractionunitonalevelsurface.
2.Lowertheloaderarms,stoptheengine,andremove
thekey.
3.Opentherearaccesscover.
4.Placeadrainpanunderthelter(Figure55).

5.Removetheoldlter(Figure55)andwipethe
surfaceofthelteradaptergasketclean.
6.Applyathincoathydraulicuidtotherubbergasket
onthereplacementlter.
7.Installthereplacementhydrauliclterontothelter
adapter(Figure55).Tightenitclockwiseuntilthe
rubbergasketcontactsthelteradapter,thentighten
thelteranadditional3/4turn.
8.Cleanupanyspilleduid.
9.Starttheengineandletitrunforabouttwominutes
topurgeairfromthesystem.
10.Stoptheengineandcheckforleaks.
Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecan
penetrateskinandcauseinjury.Fluidinjected
intotheskinmustbesurgicallyremovedwithin
afewhoursbyadoctorfamiliarwiththisform
ofinjuryorgangrenemayresult.
•Keepyourbodyandhandsawayfrompin
holeleaksornozzlesthatejecthighpressure
hydraulicuid.
•Usecardboardorpapertondhydraulic
leaks,neveruseyourhands.
11.Checktheuidlevelinthehydraulictank(referto
CheckingtheHydraulicFluidin,page)andadd
uidtoraisetheleveltomarkondipstick.Donot
overllthetank.
12.Closetherearaccesscover.

comesrst)
1.Positionthetractionunitonalevelsurface.
2.Openthehood.
3.Installthecylinderlock,stoptheengine,andremove
thekey.
4.Allowthetractionunittocoolcompletely.
5.Removethehydraulictankcapanddipstick
(Figure56).
Note:Thellercapisbehindthefrontscreen.If
youwanttoimproveyouraccesstoit,removethe
screen.
