ReplacingtheFilters
1.Gentlyslidetheprimarylteroutoftheaircleaner
body(Figure32).Avoidknockingthelterintothe
sideofthebody.
Important:Donotattempttocleantheprimary
lter.
2.Removethesafetylteronlyifyouintendtoreplace
it.
Important:Neverattempttocleanthesafety
lter.Ifthesafetylterisdirty,thentheprimary
lterisdamagedandyoushouldreplaceboth
lters.
3.Inspectthenewlter(s)fordamagebylookinginto
thelterwhileshiningabrightlightontheoutside
ofthelter.Holesinthelterwillappearasbright
spots.Inspecttheelementfortears,anoilylm,or
damagetotherubberseal.Ifthelterisdamaged
donotuseit.
4.Ifyouarereplacingthesafetylter,carefullyslide
thenewlterintothelterbody(Figure32).
Important:Topreventenginedamage,always
operatetheenginewithbothairltersandcover
installed.
5.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthesafetylter
(Figure32).Ensurethatitisfullyseatedbypushing
ontheouterrimofthelterwhileinstallingit.
Important:Donotpressonthesoftinsidearea
ofthelter.
6.Installtheaircleanercoverwiththesideindicatedas
UPfacingupandsecurethelatches(Figure32).
7.Closethehood.

1.Starttheengineandletitrunforveminutes.This
warmstheoilsoitdrainsbetter.
2.Parkthetractionunitsothatthedrainsideisslightly
lowerthantheoppositesidetoensurethattheoil
drainscompletely.
3.Lowertheloaderarms,settheparkingbrake,stop
theengine,andremovethekey.
Componentswillbehotifthetractionunithas
beenrunning.Ifyoutouchhotcomponentsyou
maybeburned.
Allowthetractionunittocoolbeforeperforming
maintenanceortouchingcomponentsunder
thehood.
