Themachinehasgreasettingsthatyoumustlubricate
regularlywithNo.2lithiumgrease.Lubricatemoreoften
indirtyordustyconditionsbecausedirtcangetintothe
bearingsandbushingsandcauseacceleratedwear.
1.Wipethegreasettingscleansothatforeignmatter
cannotbeforcedintothebearingorbushing.
2.Pumpgreaseintothettings.
3.Wipeoffexcessgrease.
Note:Improperwash-downprocedurescannegativelyaffect
bearinglife.Donotwashdownthemachinewhenitisstill
hotandavoiddirectinghigh-pressureorhigh-volumespray
atthebearingsorseals.

GearBoxLubricant
ThegearboxisdesignedtooperatewithSAEEP90Wgear
lube.Althoughthegearboxcomesfromthefactorywith
lubricant,checkthelevelofthelubricantinthecutting
unitbeforeoperatingitandasrecommendedintheDaily
MaintenanceChecklist(page32).
CheckingtheMower-DeckGearbox
Lubricant
ServiceInterval:Every150hours
1.Positionthemachineandmowerdeckonalevel
surface.
2.Lowerthemowerdecktothe2.5cm(1inch)height
ofcut.
3.DisengagethePTO,movethemotion-controlleversto
theNEUTRAL-LOCKposition,andsettheparkingbrake.
4.MovethethrottlelevertotheSLOWposition,shutoff
theengine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
5.Liftthefootrest,exposingthetopofthemowerdeck.
6.Removethedipstick/llplugfromthetopofthe
gearboxandmakesurethatthelubricantisbetween
themarksonthedipstick(Figure33).
