1.Positionthemachineandcuttingunitonalevelsurface.
2.Lowerthemowerdecktothe2.5cm(1inch)height
ofcut.
3.DisengagethePTO,movethemotion-controlleversto
theNEUTRAL-LOCKposition,andsettheparkingbrake.
4.MovethethrottlelevertotheSLOWposition,shutoff
theengine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
5.Liftthefootrest,exposingthetopofthemowerdeck.
6.Removethedipstick/llplugfromthetopofthe
gearbox(Figure33).
7.Placeafunnelanddrainpanunderthedrainplug
locatedunderthefrontofthegearboxandremovethe
plug,drainingthelubricantintothepan.
8.Replacethedrainplug.
9.Addenoughlubricant,approximately283ml(12oz),
untilthelevelisbetweenthemarksonthedipstick.
Important:Donotoverllthegearbox;overlling
thegearboxmaydamageit.

CheckingtheAirCleaner
1.Checktheair-cleanerbodyfordamage,which
couldpossiblycauseanairleak.Replaceadamaged
air-cleanerbody.
2.Checktheair-intakesystemforleaks,damage,orloose
hoseclamps.
3.Servicetheair-cleanerlterwhentheair-cleaner
indicatorshowsredorevery400hoursandservice
itmorefrequentlyinextremelydustyordirty
conditions(Figure34).
