disengagethepowertakeoffandlowerthe
attachments;
changeintoneutralandsettheparkingbrake;
stoptheengineandremovethekey.
Disengagedrivetoattachments,stoptheengine,and
disconnectthesparkplugwire(s)orremovetheignition
key
beforeclearingblockagesoruncloggingthechute;
beforechecking,cleaning,orworkingonthelawn
mower;
afterstrikingaforeignobject.Inspectthelawn
mowerfordamageandmakerepairsbeforestarting
andoperatingtheequipment;ifthemachinestartsto
vibrateabnormally(checkimmediately).
Disengagedrivetoattachmentswhentransportingornot
inuse.
Stoptheengineanddisengagedrivetoattachment
beforefuelling;
beforeremovingthegrasscatcher;
beforeadjustingtheheightunlessyoucanadjustit
fromtheoperator'sposition.
Reducethethrottlesettingduringenginerun-outand,if
theengineisprovidedwithashutoffvalve,turnthefuel
offattheconclusionofmowing.
MaintenanceandStorage
Keepallnuts,boltsandscrewstighttobesurethatthe
equipmentisinsafeworkingcondition.
Neverstoretheequipmentwithfuelinthetankinsidea
building,wherefumescanreachanopenameorspark.
Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringinanyenclosure.
Toreducetherehazard,keeptheengine,silencer,
batterycompartment,andfuelstorageareafreeofgrass,
leaves,orexcessivegrease.
Checkthegrasscatcherfrequentlyforwearor
deterioration.
Replacewornordamagedpartsforsafety.
Ifyoumustdrainthefueltank,doitoutdoors.
Onmulti-bladedmachines,takecareasrotating1blade
cancauseotherbladestorotate.
Whenthemachineistobeparked,stored,orleft

Batteryacidispoisonousandcancauseburns.Avoid
contactwithskin,eyesandclothing.Protectyourface,
eyes,andclothingwhenworkingwithabattery.
Batterygasescanexplode.Keepcigarettes,sparks,and
amesawayfromthebattery.

Donotmowslopesgreaterthan15degrees.
Donotmowneardrop-offs,ditches,steepbanks,or
water.Wheelsdroppingoveredgescancauserollovers,
whichmayresultinseriousinjury,death,ordrowning.
Donotmowslopeswhengrassiswet.Slippery
conditionsreducetractionandcouldcauseslidinganda
lossofcontrol.
Donotmakesuddenturnsorrapidspeedchanges.
Useawalkbehindmowerand/orahandtrimmernear
drop-offs,ditches,steepbanks,orwater.
Reducespeedanduseextremecautiononslopes.
Removeormarkobstaclessuchasrocks,treelimbs,etc.
fromthemowingarea.Tallgrasscanhideobstacles.
Watchforditches,holes,rocks,dips,andrisesthatchange
theoperatingangle,asroughterraincouldoverturnthe

Weighttransfertothefrontwheelsmaycausedrive
wheelstoslipandcauselossofbrakingandsteering.
