FillingtheFuelTank
1.Shutofftheengineandsettheparkingbrake.
2.Cleanaroundthefuel-tankcapandremovethe
cap.
3.Addunleadedregulargasolinetothefueltank,
untilthelevelis6to13mm(1/4to1/2inch)
belowthebottomofthellerneck.
Note:Thisspaceinthetankallowsthegasoline
toexpand.Donotllthefueltankcompletely
full.
4.Installthefuel-tankcapsecurely.Wipeupany
gasolinethatmayhavespilled.

Beforeyoustarttheengineandusethemachine,
checktheoillevelintheenginecrankcase;referto
CheckingtheEngine-OilLevel(page41).
BreakinginaNewMachine
Newenginestaketimetodevelopfullpower.Mower
decksanddrivesystemshavehigherfrictionwhen
new,placingadditionalloadontheengine.Allow
40to50hoursofbreak-intimefornewmachinesto
developfullpowerandbestperformance.
