1.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),set
theparkingbrake,andturntheignitionkeyto
Off.Removethekey.
2.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefrom
theexternalpartsoftheentiremachine,
especiallytheengineandhydraulicsystem.
Cleandirtandchafffromtheoutsideofthe
engine-cylinder-headnsandblowerhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachine
withmilddetergentandwater.Donot
pressure-washthemachine.Avoid
excessiveuseofwater,especiallynearthe
controlpanel,engine,hydraulicpumps,and
motors.
3.Checkthebrake.
4.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
Cleaner(page40).
5.Greasethemachine;refertoLubrication(page
38).
6.Changethecrankcaseoil;refertoChangingthe
EngineOil(page42).
7.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingthe
TirePressure(page49).
8.Changethehydrauliclters;refertoReplacing
theHydraulicFiltersandHydraulicOil(page62).
9.Chargethebattery;refertoServicingtheBattery
(page46).
10.Scrapeanyheavybuildupofgrassanddirt
fromtheundersideofthemower,thenwashthe
mowerwithagardenhose.
Note:Runthemachinewiththeblade-control
switch(PTO)engaged,andtheengineathigh
idlefor2to5minutesafterwashing.
11.Checktheconditionoftheblades;referto
ServicingtheCuttingBlades(page65).
12.Preparethemachineforstoragewhennon-use
occursover30days.Preparethemachinefor
storageasfollows:
A.Addapetroleum-based
stabilizer/conditionertofuelinthe
tank.Followmixinginstructionsfrom
thestabilizermanufacturer.Donotuse
analcoholbasedstabilizer(ethanolor
methanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenmixedwithfreshfueland
usedatalltimes.
B.Runtheenginetodistributeconditionedfuel
throughthefuelsystem(5minutes).
C.Stoptheengine,allowittocool,anddrain
thefueltank;refertoServicingtheFuel
Tank(page46).
D.Restarttheengineandrunituntilitstops.
