enginefromstartingunless:
•Youaresittingontheseat.
•Thebrakepedalisdepressed.
•Thebladecontrol(PTO)knobisintheDisengaged
position.
•ThetractioncontrolpedalisintheNeutralposition.
Thesafetyinterlocksystemstopstheengineifyou
risefromtheseatandthetractioncontrolpedalisnot
intheNeutralposition,theparkingbrakeisnotset,
orthebladecontrol(PTO)knobisintheEngaged
position.
Thesafetyinterlocksystemisdesignedtostopthe
mowerif:
•YoushiftintoReversewiththeblades(PTO)
engaged.
•Youremovethebagordumpthegrass.

Switchto
OperateinReverse
Theinterlockfeatureonthemachinepreventsthe
powertake-off(PTO)fromoperatingwhenyouback
upthemachine.Ifyouoperatethemachineinreverse
withtheblades(PTO)engaged(i.e.,withthemower
bladesorotherattachmentrunning),thebladeswill
stop.Donotmowinreverseunlessitisabsolutely
necessary.
Ifyouneedtousetheblades(PTO)whilebacking
up,turnofftheinterlockfeatureusingtheKeyChoice
switchlocatedneartheseatbracket(Figure11).
