Every100hours—Replacethesparkplug.
UseaChampionRC12YCorequivalentspark
plug.Ensurethattheairgapbetweenthecenter
andsideelectrodesis0.030inch(0.76mm)before
installingthesparkplug.Useasparkplugwrenchfor
removingandinstallingthesparkplugandagapping
toolorfeelergaugetocheckandadjusttheairgap.
RemovingtheSparkPlug
1.Disengagetheblades(PTO).
2.Settheparkingbrake.
3.Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingpartsto
stop.
4.Removetheignitionkey.
5.Openthehood.
6.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplug(Figure
28).

cleanerisdirty.

InstallingtheSparkPlug
1.Installthesparkplugandmetalwasher.Ensure
thattheairgapissetcorrectly.
2.Tightenthesparkplugto15ft-lb(20.4N∙m).
3.Connectthewiretothesparkplug(Figure28).
4.Closethehood.
