topotentialpersonalinjuryhazards.Obeyallsafety
messagesthatfollowthissymboltoavoidpossible
injuryordeath.
Thisproductiscapableofamputatinghandsand
feetandofthrowingobjects.Alwaysfollowallsafety
instructionstoavoidseriousinjuryordeath.
Training
•Readtheinstructionscarefully.Befamiliarwiththe
controlsandtheproperuseoftheequipment.
•Neverallowchildrenorpeopleunfamiliarwith
theseinstructionstousethelawnmower.Local
regulationscanrestricttheageoftheoperator.
•Nevermowwhilepeople,especiallychildren,or
petsarenearby.
•Keepinmindthattheoperatororuseris
responsibleforaccidentsorhazardsoccurringto
otherpeopleortheirproperty.
•Donotcarrypassengers.
•Understandexplanationsforallpictogramsused
onthemachineorintheinstructions.
•Alldriversshouldseekandobtainprofessional
andpracticalinstruction.Suchinstructionshould
emphasize:
–theneedforcareandconcentrationwhen
workingwithride-onmachines;
–controlofaride-onmachineslidingonaslope
willnotberegainedbytheapplicationofthe
brake.Themainreasonsforlossofcontrolare:
◊insufcientwheelgrip;
◊beingdriventoofast;
◊inadequatebraking;
◊thetypeofmachineisunsuitableforits
task;
◊lackofawarenessoftheeffectofground
conditions,especiallyslopes;
◊incorrecthitchingandloaddistribution.
FuelSafety

followingprecautions.
•Storefuelincontainersspecicallydesignedfor
thispurpose.
•Refueloutdoorsonlyanddonotsmokewhile
refueling.
•Addfuelbeforestartingtheengine.Neverremove
thecapofthefueltankoraddfuelwhiletheengine
isrunningorwhentheengineishot.
•Iffuelisspilled,donotattempttostarttheengine
butmovethemachineawayfromtheareaof
spillageandavoidcreatinganysourceofignition
untilfuelvaporshavedissipated.
•Replaceallfueltankandcontainercapssecurely.
Preparation
•Whilemowing,alwayswearsubstantial,
slip-resistantfootwearandlongtrousers.
•Donotwearjewelryorlooseclothing,tieback
longhair.
•Thoroughlyinspecttheareawheretheequipment
istobeusedandremoveallobjectswhichmaybe
thrownbythemachine.
•Warning—Fuelishighlyammable.
–Storefuelincontainersspecicallydesigned
forthispurpose.
–Refueloutdoorsonlyanddonotsmokewhile
refuelling.
–Addfuelbeforestartingtheengine.Never
removethecapofthefueltankoraddfuel
whiletheengineisrunningorwhentheengine
ishot.
–Iffuelisspilled,donotattempttostartthe
enginebutmovethemachineawayfromthe
areaofspillageandavoidcreatinganysource
ofignitionuntilfuelvaporshavedissipated.
–Replaceallfueltanksandcontainercaps
securely.
•Replacefaultysilencers.
•Beforeusing,alwaysvisuallyinspecttoseethat
theblades,bladeboltsandcutterassemblyare
notwornordamaged.Replacewornordamaged
bladesandboltsinsetstopreservebalance.
•Onmulti-bladedmachines,takecareasrotating
onebladecancauseotherbladestorotate.
Operation
•Donotoperatetheengineinaconnedspace
wheredangerouscarbonmonoxidefumescan
collect.
•Mowonlyindaylightoringoodarticiallight.
