Note:Checkthebladebeforeusingthemachine.
Sandandabrasivematerialcanwearawaythemetal
thatconnectstheatandcurvedpartsoftheblade.If
younoticewear,replacetheblade;refertoInspecting
andSharpeningtheBlade(page60).
1.Performthepre-maintenanceprocedure;refer
toPreparingtheMachineforMaintenance(page
38).
2.Blockthecuttingunittopreventitfromfalling
accidentally.
3.Examinethecuttingendsofthebladecarefully,
especiallywheretheatandcurvedpartsofthe
blademeet(Figure75).

4.Inspectthecuttingedgesofalltheblades.
Sharpenthecuttingedgesiftheyaredullor
nicked,sharpenonlythetopofthecuttingedge,
andmaintaintheoriginalcuttingangletoensure
sharpness(Figure76).
Note:Thebladeremainsbalancedifthesame
amountofmetalisremovedfrombothcutting
edges.

agoodqualityofcutandrequiresminimalpower
fromtheengine.Bycontrastabladethatis
higherattheendsthanthecenter,orifcutting
edgeishigherthantheheel,thebladeisbentor
warpedandmustbereplaced.
