CAUTION
Ifthesafety-interlockswitchesare
disconnectedordamaged,themachinecould
operateunexpectedly,causingpersonal
injury.
•Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
•Checktheoperationoftheinterlock
switchesdailyandreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
UnderstandingtheSafetyInterlock
System
Thesafety-interlocksystemisdesignedtopreventthe
enginefromstartingunlessthefollowingoccurs:
•Youaresittingontheseatortheparkingbrake
isengaged.
•Thepowertakeoff(PTO)isdisengaged.
•ThetractionpedalisintheNEUTRALposition.
•Theenginetemperatureisbelowthemaximum
operatingtemperature.
Thesafety-interlocksystemisalsodesignedtoshut
offtheenginewhenyoumovethetractionpedalfrom
theNEUTRALpositionwiththeparkingbrakeengaged.
IfyourisefromtheseatwhenthePTOisengaged
thereisa1-seconddelayandthentheengineshuts
off.
TestingtheSafety-Interlock
System
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Testthesafetyinterlocksystembeforeyouusethe
machineeachtime.Ifthesafetysystemdoesnot
operateasdescribedbelow,haveanauthorizedToro
distributorrepairthesafetysystemimmediately.
1.Sittingontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake
andmovethePTOtotheONposition.Try
startingtheengine;theengineshouldnotstart.
2.Sittingontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake
andmovethePTOtotheOFFposition.Press
thetractionpedal.Trystartingtheengine;the
engineshouldnotstart.
3.Sittingontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,
movethePTOswitchtotheOFFposition,
andallowthetractionpedaltoreturntothe
NEUTRALposition.Nowstarttheengine.While
theengineisrunning,disengagetheparking
brake,engagethePTOandriseslightlyfromthe
