replaceit.
•Donotcleantheprimaryairlter.
ServicingtheSafetyAirFilter
ServiceInterval:Every600hours
Important:Neverattempttocleanthesafetyair
lter.Ifthesafetyairlterisdirty,thentheprimary
airlterisdamaged.Replacebothlters.
InstallingtheFilters
Important:Topreventenginedamage,always
operatetheenginewithbothairltersandcover
installed.
1.Ifinstallingnewlters,checkeachlterforshipping
damage.Donotuseadamagedlter.
2.Ifthesafetylterisbeingreplaced,carefullyslideit
intothelterbody(Figure45).
3.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthesafetylter
(Figure45).
Note:Ensurethattheprimarylterisfullyseated
bypushingonitsouterrimwhileinstallingit.
Important:Donotpressonthesoftinsidearea
ofthelter.
4.Cleanthedirtejectionportlocatedintheremovable
cover.Removetherubberoutletvalvefromthe
cover,cleanthecavityandreplacetheoutletvalve.
5.Installtheaircleanercoverwiththesideindicatedas
upfacingupwardandsecurethelatches(Figure45).
6.ResettheindicatorFigure44)ifitshowsred.

Note:Changetheoilmorefrequentlywhenthe
operatingconditionsareextremelydustyorsandy.
