PrimingtheHydraulicPumps
Wheneverhydraulicuidhasbeendrainedfromthepumps(systemdrain,ush,
orpumpremoval/installation)itisimportanttoproperlyprimethehydraulic
pumps.Primingthehydraulicpumpsensuresthatthegearpumpsandpiston
(traction)pumphavesufcientuidwhilechargingthehydraulicsystem.
IMPORTANT
Ifthetraction(piston)pumpwasrebuiltorreplaced,makesure
thepumphousingisatleasthalffullofcleanhydraulicuidafter
installation.
1.Makesureallhydraulicconnectionsareproperlytightened.
2.Checkthehydraulicuidlevelinthehydraulictankandaddthecorrecttype
andquantityofuidifnecessary;refertothetractionunitOperator’sManual.
3.Disconnectandgroundtheenginesparkplugwirestopreventtheengine
fromstarting.
4.MakesurethatthetractionpedalandtheliftcontrolleverareintheNEUTRAL
position.
5.SetthekeyswitchtotheSTARTpositionandengagestarterfor10seconds.
Pause,thenengagethestarterforanadditional10seconds.
6.Connectthesparkplugwirestothesparkplugs.
7.Chargethehydraulicsystem;refertoChargingtheHydraulicSystem(page
5–64).
