System Testing & Troubleshooting
Compressor Trip - Circuit 1
Problem: The Compressor
Circuit #1 has tripped.
The circuit #1 compressor
proving input is detected open
continuously for more than 3
seconds when either or both
compressor outputs on circuit
#1 are energized (as
described in the Compressor
Protection function).
A “Lockout circuit #1” request
is issued to the Compressor
Staging Control function.
(PMR) A manual reset is
required after this diagnostic
occurs. The Diagnostic can be
reset by the unit mounted
Human Interface Module or
Tracer, or by cycling power to
the RTM.
Compressor Trip - Circuit 2
Problem: The Compressor
Circuit #2 has tripped.
The circuit #2 compressor
proving input is detected open
continuously for more than 3
seconds when either or both
compressor outputs on circuit
#2 are energized (as
described in the Compressor
Protection function).
A “Lockout circuit #2” request
is issued to the Compressor
Staging Control function.
(PMR) A manual reset is
required after this diagnostic
occurs. The Diagnostic can be
reset by the unit mounted
Human Interface Module or
Tracer, or by cycling power to
the RTM.
Cond Temp Sensor Failure -
Circuit 1
Problem: The Saturated
Condenser Temperature Input
is out of range for Circuit #1.
Check: Sensor resistance
should be between 830 ohms
(200 F) and 345.7Kohms (-40
F). If so, check field/unit
wiring between Sensor and
MCM/SCM.
The unit is reading a signal
that is out of range for the
circuit #1 Saturated
Condenser Temperature
sensor. (Temp < -55 F or Temp
> 209 F).
A “Lockout Circuit # 1”
request is issued to the
Compressor Staging Control
function.
(PAR) An automatic reset
occurs after the #1 Condenser
Temp input returns to its
allowable range within 10
seconds.
Cond Temp Sensor Failure -
Circuit 2
Problem: The Saturated Cond.
Temp Input is out of range for
Circuit #2.
Check: Sensor resistance
should be between 830 ohms
(200 F) and 345.7Kohms (-40
F). If so, check field/unit
wiring between Sensor and
MC M.
The unit is reading a signal
that is out of range for the
circuit #2 Saturated
Condenser Temperature
sensor. (Temp < -55 F or Temp
> 209 F).
A “Lockout Circuit #2” request
is issued to the Compressor
Staging Control function.
(PAR) An automatic reset
occurs after the #2 Condenser
Temp input returns to its
allowable range within 10
seconds.
Condenser Pessure Sensor
Failure Ckt #1
Problem:The Circuit-1
Condenser Pressure input
voltage is out of range.
Check wiring between Circuit-
1 Condenser Pressure sensor
and MPM. If correct verify
correct voltage on sensor
input on MPM.
Input voltage is out of range:
Input < 0.625 V or Input >
4.80 V.
Compressor and condenser
operation for Circuit-1 is
locked out until sensor value
returns in range.
(PAR) An automatic reset
occurs after the Circuit-1
Condenser Pressure input
returns to within range for 10
continuous seconds.
DIAGNOSTIC DISPLAYED REASON FOR DIAGNOSTIC UCM’S REACTION RESET REQUIRED
