The AP4119 Rail Tag Programmer User Guide provides information necessary for
installing, operating, and troubleshooting the AP4119 Rail Tag Programmer.
This Guide describes the proper setup and operation of the AP4119 Rail Tag Programmer and provides
procedures useful for troubleshooting problems encountered after installation.
The AP4119 Rail Tag Programmer User Guide is designed to be used by technical personnel responsible
for setting up and operating the AP4119 Rail Tag Programmer and related software.

      If the TransCore Motherboard tag programmer reads tags but the programming sequence fails repeatedly, use command #40 to retrieve the response code, and then refer to the programmer response codes listed in Appendix D to pinpoint the issue. Enhance electrostatic discharge protection in the programming area. Also, verify that the tag programmer permissions have not expired by using command #44 to retrieve the tag programmer permissions expiration date. You may also review the expiration date etched into the PT5780 Permissions Tag and/or review the permissions certificate for the tag programmer.

      If the TransCore Motherboard programmer beeper is not heard during tag programming/verify sequence, or the system continually beeps until a time-out occurs, use command #120 to enable the tone generator. Ensure that the door is fully closed. Check that the optical switch, activated by the tag door, is clean and free of any dirt buildup.
