17.2 COLD TEMPERATURE STORAGE
17.2.1 WATER SYSTEM WINTERIZATION
1. Place the anti-freze pick up line (located in
the utility module on the drivers side) into a
container of potable water anti-freeze. Do not
use automotive coolant anti-freeze, as this is
toxic, and will contaminate the water system.
2. Drain the fresh water tank via the drain in the
3. Turn off the water pump.
4. Drain the water heater using the drain/relief
valve located at the water heater. Open any
hot water faucet to allow air into the system
to drain the hot water tank.
5. Turn the winterize valve on the utility module
to the winterize position and turn the hot water
tank bypass valve to the bypass position.
7. Open the hot water faucet furthest from the
pump. Do this on all faucets, hot and cold.
Do not forget the toilet, shower and exterior
shower. When red anti-freeze appears allow
a cup full of anti-freeze to run down the drain
9. Open one faucet to releave the pressure.
Remove the screen at the city water connec-
tion and press the valve inside the inlet with
a small screw driver until anit-freeze starts to
fl ow. This will ensure frost protection for the
17.2.2 DE-WINTERIZE WATER
1. Fill the water tank with clean water.
2. Turn the winterization valve in the utility mod-
ule to the normal position.
4. Open the water faucet furthest away from the
water tank. Run the water until clear water ap-
pears. Shut off the faucet, and do this to all hot
and cold faucets, shower head and toilet.
5. Open the exterior shower valves and run the
exterior shower until clear water appears.
DO NOT use automotive type anit-freeze in fresh
water sytem. It is highly toxic.

CAUTION
NOTE: Do not turn the water heater
bypass valve to the normal position until
clear water appears at all faucets.
