5.9 SEVERE WEATHER INFORMATION
As a motorhome traveller you will fi nd the desire to explore new and out-of-the-way places irresistible. Rec-
reational areas can be vulnerable to unusual and severe weather conditions that could endanger your safety.
A few suggestions and safety precautions may help in case you ever fi nd yourself in this situation.

1. Be alert! Thunderstorms and heavy rains can
occur suddenly and unexpectedly. Listen fre-
quently to weather reports for the area in which
you are camping or travelling.

weather. Prepare with an alternate exit. Move
to higher ground as soon as it starts raining.

attempt to move your vehicle. Abandon it and
return to it only after the water has gone down.
