  Erratic heart rate readings on your True Exercise Bike can stem from several factors. First, ensure the transmitter belt makes full contact with your skin. Also, the contacts on the transmitter belt should be moist. Check that you're within 3 feet (1 meter) of the console. Confirm that your transmitter belt operates at the correct frequency (4.8kHz un-encoded). A depleted battery in the transmitter belt may also be the cause, consider replacing it. Environmental interference from power lines, computers, motor-driven appliances, cell phones, cordless phones or Wi-Fi routers can also affect the reading. Try moving the unit or the source of interference. If the source of interference is plugged into the same outlet, try moving the source to another outlet.
