Why is my Tuthill Water Pump system ultimate pressure excessively high?
    • J
      Jose BergerAug 11, 2025
High system ultimate pressure in your Tuthill Water Pump can stem from several issues. It could be due to faulty process equipment, so check the pump performance. The process equipment may be contaminated by high vapor pressure material; in this case, clean the equipment with acetone, alcohol, or either. Also, check for process equipment leaks. Improper vacuum pump oil flow can be a cause, so clean the oil ducts. Other potential causes include contaminated vacuum pump oil (change the pump oil), malfunctioning discharge valves, vacuum pump leaks (leak check the pump), a malfunctioning vacuum pump shaft seal, or worn/damaged internal parts (disassemble the pump and inspect the internal parts).

      Leslie PerezAug 17, 2025
If your Tuthill Water Pump stalls, there are several potential causes to investigate. First, check for electrical power loss at the pump. Another cause may be a blocked pump discharge line; clear the pump discharge line and check the oil mist eliminator element for blockage. Also, pump malfunctioning, contaminated pump oil or insufficient lubrication can cause the pump to stall.

      Jerome VasquezAug 23, 2025
If your Tuthill Water Pump won't start, begin by checking for power at the pump, including the motor start controls and the motor itself, as the cause may be electrical failure. Another potential cause is the pump being flooded with oil; clear the oil by turning it over by hand or disassembling the pump. Excessively low temperature can also prevent starting; heat the pump to a minimum starting temperature of 50°F (10°C).

How to stop oil discharge from oil mist eliminator in Tuthill KINNEY KC?
    • C
      Christine LopezAug 29, 2025
To stop oil discharge, if there is excess oil on the discharge side of the oil mist eliminator, unscrew the oil mist eliminator and pour oil through the discharge fitting back into the pump. Additionally, reduce pump inlet pressure below 10 Torr to allow collected oil to drain back through the integral check valve in the oil mist eliminator.

Why is my Tuthill KINNEY KC Water Pump making excessive noise at low pressures?
    • D
      Danny McphersonSep 5, 2025
Excessive noise at low pressures in your Tuthill Water Pump is likely due to hydraulic noise of pump discharge. To address this, open the gas ballast valve.
