Why does UTC Fire and Security Control Panel have an overcurrent service condition?
    • S
      smithaustinAug 18, 2025
An overcurrent service condition in the UTC Fire and Security Control Panel usually means that the control panel’s auxiliary power is overused, or a device powered by the keypad bus or auxiliary power may be shorted. To resolve this: * Add up the current used by all devices powered by auxiliary and keypad power. Ensure the total is under 1 A with a 40 VA or 50 VA transformer, or under 500 mA if using a 25 VA transformer. If exceeded, power some devices from an NX-320E or another auxiliary power supply. * Alternatively, remove all powered devices except one keypad. If the trouble disappears, reconnect devices one at a time until the condition reappears to locate the short on that device’s wiring.

Why does UTC Fire and Security Interlogix NX-8E show lost zones?
    • L
      lmayoSep 3, 2025
The 'lost zones' message on your UTC Fire and Security keypad usually means wireless zones aren't checking in with the panel. To fix this, delete the zone and relearn it. Check the signal strength at Location 200 in the receiver (Location 400 in the NX-148-RF) when the transmitter is learned. If the signal strength is less than 6, relocate the transmitter or receiver for better reception.
