11.7 Finding short circuits in cables
Switch off the fuse and power down the electrical circuit�
Connect the transmitter to the damaged cables as in-
dicated�
The short circuit must be low-impedance
(<20 Ohm)� If necessary, check this again
with a multimeter�
Note:
– If the line resistance exceeds 20 Ohm, you
can try using the search method described for
a cable break�
11.8 Tracing installed water pipes
Disconnect the water pipes to be traced from the equi-
potential bonding rail�
Switch off the fuse and power down the system� Con-
nect one measuring socket of the transmitter to the
potential balancer�
The second connection is placed right on the water
pipe/metal pipe to be traced�
Trace the pipe's course with the receiver�
