11.11 Tracing lines at a deeper position
Switch off the fuse and power down the electrical circuit�
For the two-pole measuring method, the search signal
of lines close to each other often affects itself� This is
reected in a lower search depth.
To prevent this problem, you can use an additional
power cable for the return (e�g� an extension, cable
drum, etc�)�
The distance between the lines in either direction must
be at least 2 meters. Thus, the electrical eld can
spread sufciently.
11.12 Tracing lines in the ground
Switch off the fuse and power down the electrical circuit�
The distance between the clamp or earth cable and the
connected earth potential must be as large as possible�
When the distance is too small, the earth cable cannot
be detected reliably�
Move the receiver over the ground very slowly� The
highest signal strength indicates the earth cable's
course� The signal strength for the line decreases when
the distance increases�
