Alternator 80 A, description
Regarding: L60F, L70F, L90F
The alternator is a 80 A alternating current generator with a nor‐
mal charge voltage of 28.3 V and a built-in charge regulator.
When the engine is turned off, the batteries normally give a volt‐
age of approx. 24-26 V, depending on their charging status. When
the engine is running, the batteries are normally charged by the
alternator, since the alternator’s normal charging voltage is higher
than the battery voltage.
If the batteries do not seem to take a charge, this may be due to
incorrect charge voltage from the alternator. Also check the acid‐
ity in the battery electrolyte, see
Battery, charging page 19
.
