3 Safety information
Observe all necessary regulations and instructions:
– Follow all warning notes, notices and instructions in this document to avoid personal injury and
material damage.
– Follow the company's accident prevention regulations as well as regional and national regulations.
– Follow the instructions of the axle and vehicle manufacturer.
– Make sure your workplace is dry as well as adequately lit and ventilated.
Make provisions for a safe work environment:
– Only trained and qualifi ed technicians may carry out work on the vehicle.
– Please wear personal protection equipment to prevent injuries:

– Pedal actuations can lead to severe injuries if persons are in the vicinity of the vehicle. Make sure
that pedals cannot be actuated as follows:
– Switch the transmission to "neutral" and actuate the park brake.
– Secure the vehicle against rolling by using chocks.
– Fasten a visible note to the steering wheel indicating that work is being performed on the
vehicle and that the pedals are not to be actuated.
– Do not use the ABS/EBS Code Reader in the vicinity of:
heat sources
magnetic fi elds
exhaust gases
sources of electricity
– Do not expose the ABS/EBS Code Reader to impact, shock or moisture (water or other liquids).
