11.1 Troubleshooting
Fault Cause Remedy
Engine does not start. Fuel cock is closed. Open the fuel cock.
Fuel tank is empty. Refill with fuel.
Fuel line is clogged. Have the fuel line cleaned.
Fuel filter is clogged. Have the fuel filter changed.*
Carburetor is clogged. Clean the carburetor.*
Air filter is clogged. Clean the air filter.
Spark plug connector is defective. Have the machine repaired.*
Spark plug is defective. Replace spark plug.
Spark plug is loose. Tighten the spark plug.
The electrode gap of the spark plug
is set incorrectly.
Adjust the electrode gap.
The connection socket of the remote
switch-off is empty.
Connect remote switch-off.
Plug in the short-circuit plug.
Remote shutdown is not opera-
tional.
Check remote shutdown according
to the manufacturer's operator’s
manual.
The engine stops shortly after start-
ing.
Fuel tank is empty. Refill with fuel.
Fuel filter is clogged. Have the fuel filter changed.*
The air filter is soiled. Clean or replace the air filter.
Engine does not work. The air filter is soiled. Clean or replace the air filter.
Reverse starter defective. Starter rope is stuck. Have the starter rope changed.*
Starter rope has broken off.
* Have this work carried out by a service partner.
