REMOVAL
Remove the oil
drain
hose assembly. Remove the oil pan
bolts and then use the special tool to break the pan seal.
COUNTERBALANCE
SHAFT
REMOVAL
1. Remove the plug on the cylinder block and insert
an
0.32in (8mm) rod into the hole to lock the
counterbalance shaft.

PAN:
Remove the old gasket
___
and sealant from the oil pan
and
cylinder block with a scraper,
· wire brush. solvent, etc. Make
certain all residue is removed.

ASSEMBLY
2. Remove the oil pump cover and gasket. Discard
the gasket.
3. Remove the oil pump driven gear tightening flange bolts
· to release the counterbalance shaft.
4. Remove the counterbalance
shaft. Drive it from the front.
