COMPRESSOR
Refer to page 4-20 for the procedure for ac-
cessing the compressor.
1. Unplug air conditioner or disconnect power.
2. Discharge
the compressor motor ca-
pacitor by touching a 20,000 Ω resis-
tor to the capacitor terminals.
3.
Disconnect the three wires from the com-
pressor terminals.
4.
Set the ohmmeter to the R x 1 scale.
5. Clip an ohmmeter test lead to the over-
load protector terminal C.
6.
Touch the free test lead to the following
compressor terminals. The meter should
indicate as shown:

erminal R = 2.5 Ω
Terminal S = 4.8 Ω
Black (C)
Red (R)
White (S)
Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock.
