Follow the procedures below to change the drive
motor and/or air compressor belts:
1. Remove cover on right side of the band saw.
2. Loosen bolts on the uppervari-drive pulley
support. Slide upper vari-drive pulley supportto
releasetension on belts. Donot removethe saw
wheel drive belts.
3. Loosen bolts onthe lower vari-drive pulley
support. Slide upper vari-drive pulley
support to releasetension on belts. Do not
removethe gearboxdrive belts.
4. Removeworn belts. Installnewbelts.
NOTE: It may be necessary to loosenthe drive
motor attaching screws to have enoughslack to
removethe aircompressor drive belt.
5. Slide uppervari-drive pulleysupport to apply
tension on belts. Tighten boltson upper vari-
drive pulley support.
6. Install cover on right side of the band saw.
7. Check operation of the band saw.
Changing the Vari-Speed
Drive Belts

Follow the procedures below to change vari-speed
drive belts:
1. Removegearboxand drivemotorbelts (referto
Changing Gearbox Drive Belts and Changing
the Drive Motor/Air Compressor Belts).
2. Removelowerdrivepulley(ref.#45)fromlower
shaft (ref.#40).
3. Removeupperdrivepulley(ref.#46) from upper
shaft (ref.#27)to removeand lowervari-speed
mechanisms.
4. Removewornvari-speeddrivebelt.
5. Installthe vari-speed mechanismand upperand
lowerdrivewheel supports(ref.#38 and#23).
6. Installupperdrivepulley(ref.#46) and lowerdrive
pulley (ref.#45).
7. Install drive motor and gearbox belts (refer to
Changing Gearbox Drive Belts and Changing
the Drive Motor/Air Compressor Belts).
8. Checkoperationof the bandsaw.
Replacement of Blade

When removingupper bladeguides, remove blade
guardfromguidesupport.
1. When removingthe lowerbladeguides,open
lower leftdoorto access bladesupport (the lower
blade guard is attachedto the lowerdoor).
2. Removethe cap screwand washers from both
bladeguides.
3. Removethe bladeguides.
4. Installnew blade guidessothey just touch the
side of the saw blade. Adjust position of guide
seat so it just touches the back edge of the blade.
