2.12 Antifreeze / Transport preparation
This routine is the easiest way to prepare the coffee machine for shipping during winter months.
Without needing to open up the coffee machine, the boiler water system and the safety assembly are partially emptied. This prevents any frost damage from a single
freezing incident.
Important instructions:
If the machine may thaw and freeze again during shipping, then the boilers must be complete emptied after running the routine.
This is physically necessary, as the cycle of thawing and freezing causes water to enter the space between the boiler wall and the remaining ice block around the
heater, which then expands when it freezes.
Workflow:
Remove the water infeed hose and empty the water tank
Start routine Antifreeze/ Transport preparation
o Settings saved and restored when the machine is commissioned again
o Partial emptying is performed
When the (thawed) machine is switched on, the boiler water system is filled automatically and then heated
Start routine after entering the service PIN
under System > Antifreeze / Transport preparation .
The routine can optionally be enabled for general use.
