Scanning
18 DocuMate 515 Scanner User’s Guide
Scanning
If you selected the recommended Full Install option (see page 10), you
have several different options to scan with your Xerox DocuMate 515
scanner. Each method scans equally well, so use the one with
appropriate options for the item you are scanning.
One Touch Scanner ButtonsEach scanner button is set up to
scan for a particular function, such as Email to attach a scanned item
to a new, blank Email message. See “Scan from the One Touch
Scanner Buttons” on page 22.
One Touch Button PanelUse this option to scan from the
computer screen. Scanning from the on-screen One Touch Button
Panel is the same as pressing a scanner button, except you click an
icon that represents the scanner button. See “Scan from the
One Touch Button Panel” on page 23.
TWAIN Interface—The TWAIN interface is for scanning from various
programs on your computer. The TWAIN interface is available from
the PaperPort software, as well as from other programs such as
Microsoft Word. See “Scanning from the TWAIN Interface” on
page 60.
Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)—If your computer is running
Windows XP or Windows Vista, you can use this option to scan with
the Microsoft Windows WIA interface. See “Scanning from the
Windows Image Acquisition Interface” on page 72.
ISIS Interface—This option uses the ISIS interface for scanning. The
ISIS interface for each application varies depending on the
application. See “Scanning from the ISIS Interface” on page 75.
