4. Grasping the handle of the drum cartridge
indicated by the displayed message,
carefully pull out the cartridge.
Here we will use cartridge R1 as an example.
Important
• When pulling out the drum cartridge, grasp it with both
hands so it does not drop.
• Take care to avoid touching any toner adhering to the
drum cartridge.
5. Insert the used drum cartridge into the plastic
bag that comes with the new drum cartridge.
After installing the new drum cartridge, store
the old one in the box the new cartridge
came in.
Important
• After removing a drum cartridge from its box, never
stand it up on its end.
6. Insert the protrusions at the end of the new
drum cartridge (which has a protective cover
attached) into the two holes on the machine.
7. With the protrusions inserted into the holes,
pull out the black protective sheet from the
top of the drum cartridge.
8. Slide the orange knob towards the printer,
which will push the drum cartridge inside the
protective cover into the printer.
9. Remove the protective cover, and press the
drum cartridge in so it sets securely in place.

• Place the protective cover into the drum cartridge box.
