Device software update control
Physical access methods (USB, network)
Following methods are provided:
Fiery Updates
e Fiery Updates feature provided in Command WorkStation allows users to install and download the available
updates and patches from the network. Fiery Updates also allows users to view the history of completed update
and patch installation.
System Updates
System Updates can be accessed from Configure WebTools. If System Updates has been enabled, the EX Print
Server automatically downloads and installs the updates from the network.
Check for Product Updates
e Check for Product Updates link in the WebTools Home page can be accessed over the network, and will
guide users to the Software Download Site, where users can select and download the patches. e information
on the patch dependency information is also provided.
Patches in PostScript format
If the EX Print Server is in a private network and the Internet access is not allowed, the patch files can be
provided on USB drive in Postscript (.ps) format or as a Windows executable file. PostScript patches can be
applied by downloading and processing the file. To apply the executable file, log on to the EX Print Server and
run the executable file. In this case, either local access to the EX Print Server (monitor, keyboard, and mouse) or
a Windows Remote Desktop Connection to the EX Print Server is required.
