WSD
WSD (Web Services for Devices) is a technology from Microsoft, which provides a standard method for
discovering and using network connected devices, and is supported in Windows Vista and Windows
Server 2008 environments. WSD is one of the several supported communication protocols.
WSD (Web Services for Devices) specifies a lightweight subset of the overall Web services protocol suite
that is appropriate for network-connected devices. The device profile prescribes how to use elements of
core Web services specifications to enable these functions.
