Chapter 4
Hardware Configuration Using
Vivado Tools
The following secon provides an overview of the Vivado Design Suite carrier card hardware
design support.
Vivado Tools Board File
The Vivado tools board le provides a design abstracon to capture aspects of the hardware
conguraon that are xed by the SOM physical hardware design. The board le, when
combined with the Vivado tools board automaon, can pre-populate the MIO conguraon
associated with these SOM xed peripherals:
DDR4 memory interface and associated ming conguraon
QSPI non-volale memory and associated clocking
eMMC non-volale memory and associated clocking
SPI interface for a trusted plaorm module (TPM)
I2C peripheral bus for SOM peripherals and extensible via carrier card design
UART for board bring-up and soware debug (assumes the carrier card pins out MIO36 and
MIO37 for proper UART funcon)
PMU input/output (need to check default board le conguraon)
The SOM is available in a Vivado tools board le on the Xilinx GitHub Board Store.
Documentaon on installing and using the Vivado tools board les is available in the Wiki
referenced on the Xilinx GitHub.
