(1) Visually inspect the sliding surface of
thrust
collar A or
B
to check for signs of overheating, scoring, or cracks.
Replace
the collar if any abnormal condition is found.

Measure
the thickness of

collar A or B, and
replace
it when the dimension exceeds the specified
limit.
